The Chicago Tribune Silver Football has been awarded to the best player in the Big Ten annually since 1924.
This year's three finalists all will be playing Saturday, as Kirk Cousins has been named one of three finalists, along with Wisconsin's Montee Ball and Russell Wilson. Cousins obviously is the longshot.
The award is voted on by the coaches with a two-player ballot. Coaches cannot vote for their own player.
Here is the story from the Tribune.
