MSU No. 17 in AP preseason poll

No need to worry about different numbers next to MSU's name, as The Associated Press agreed with the coaches in putting MSU at No. 17 in the preseason poll.

As we all know, preseason polls are extremely accurate, so it looks like it was a disappointing season for the Spartans. I personally don't think there should be preseason polls until week five or so, but there is too much interest for that to happen (as evidenced by me writing this post).

Other teams to note: Oklahoma at No. 1 and Notre Dame at No. 16. Here are fellow Big Ten teams: Nebraska at No. 10, Wisconsin at No. 11 and Ohio State at No. 18. Penn State, Iowa, Michigan and Northwestern are all receiving votes. Of the seven other Big Ten teams getting votes, MSU plays six of them  — four on the road, plus a trip to Notre Dame.

The Spartans are scrimmaging at Spartan Stadium today, so look for an update on that later. (UPDATE: Scrimmage was moved to Sunday afternoon because of weather).
