Four Spartans on initial list for NFL Combine

The initial invitations to the NFL Combine have been sent out to 231 college football players, CBS Sports reported on Saturday.

Kirk Cousins, B.J. Cunningham, Keshawn Martin and Trenton Robinson have received invites among Spartans. It should be noted that the initial invitation list only includes seniors.

I'm a bit surprised that Brian Linthicum wasn't on the list. He is rated the No. 6 tight end by CBS Sports.

Jerel Worthy should get an invite in the second list. He is rated the No. 4 defensive tackle and No. 19 overall prospect.

The Combine will take place from Feb. 22-28 in the all-too-familiar Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.

As for other MSU seniors, Keith Nichol will be playing in the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl in Carson, Calif., on Jan. 21. As Nichol mentioned prior to the Outback Bowl, scouts have looked at him possibly playing a different position in the NFL.

To recap the all-star games, Cousins and Linthicum have said they will be in the Senior Bowl on Jan. 28 in Mobile, Ala., while Robinson has hinted he will be there. Cunningham is impressing people in practice for the East-West Shrine Game, which will be played on Jan. 21 in St. Petersburg, Fla.

Along with the Combine and all-star games to impress scouts, the Spartans will have MSU's Pro Day, which should have the most draftable prospects in a long time.
